Lifestyle: positive eating @ Wagamama

Wagamama is nowadays a minimalist/sleek canteen style restaurant chain (it's not fast food but it's quite fast…) serving japanese style food at reasonable prices. I still remember queuing in London's first of two restaurants, close to the British Museum, ages ago. In the meantime, after fourteen years, they’ve opened more than 70 restaurants worldwide - in London and throughout the UK, in Europe (Ireland, Netherlands, Antwerp in Belgium, Copenhagen and Istanbul) and even in Dubai and Australia.

The Wagamama is an experience of positive eating + positive living, as they claim. The concept is based on the ramen (noodle soup) shops popular in Japan. Ramen are chinese-style thread noodles, served in soups with delicious toppings or griddle-cooked (teppan-fried). Their rice dishes are also good as well as the excellent fresh fruit juices. There's a variety of side dishes including meat and vegetable dumplings, deep-fried prawns and in particular the gyozas (the duck ones with a spicy cherry hoi sin sauce are excellent!)…They told me they would open a Wagamama in Brussels a couple of years ago butI'm still waiting… anyway they are franchising now… so why nottry open one near you? ... luckily Antwerp is just half an hour drive away.
