The Oscars

So "Brokeback mountain" did not make it to win the Oscar for best picture this year... but was that really a surprise? Ang Lee got his oscar for best director and that was already good enough - the picture won three oscars, which is already fine. Not that "Crash" was such a great movie, which it wasn't, but it's set in LA, about tolerance in LA, where the Academy comes from... Anyway, I guessed right all the actors' oscars... and except for the best film, there were no real surprises this year. In any case there is nothing exceptional about the oscars, although I have the feeling they're improving and opening up with the years. If not how could they have made so many nominations for a film like Brokeback, nominate palestinian film "Paradise Lost" for best foreign language film or give an oscar to political "activist" George Clooney? The oscars aren't anymore what they used to be and it's just good like that.

For those who have not seen the ceremony nor have had the chance to see "Brokeback mountain" yet, here is a short animated film, courtesy of my friend Sandrine, bunnybackmountain. N-joy!
